Upon her father's death, 15-year-old Paula learns that her mother Eva is still alive and wants to assume responsibility for her. It's a radical change in the life of the sensitive, music-loving girl, since her mother has married the horse breeder Max Minkhoff and lives with him and his two teenage children Fee and Finn. Not only does Paula know nothing about horses, but she has also never had siblings before... Paula sees her dreams of becoming a ballerina going up in smoke in this horse-loving family.
