Scene of the Crime - Stuttgart
|
|
Stuttgart is no longer the city of tight-fisted, hard-working, middle-class Germans. It's still a bustling place, and still plagued by the crimes fostered by big money. But it's gotten a lot more colorful, with people of all stripes and nationalities flocking to the city. The Stuttgart "Scene of the Crime" has undergone a complete makeover to better reflect this volatile new multi-cultural component. In a rougher, more urban atmosphere, hot-button topics are treated directly, honestly and grippingly. In tune with the new concept are the series' new inspectors and their colleagues. Both Inspector Thorsten Lannert and his partner Sebastian Bootz are North-Germans; tough, hands-on criminal technician Nika Brankovic is half Croatian and half Serbian; brilliant and highly committed state prosecutor Emilia Alvarez Argentinean; only forensics inspector Daniel Vogt is a local - and typically tight-lipped. Despite their age difference, Lannert and Bootz are equals, who treat each other with respect, openness and humor. Lannert, the older one, was an undercover cop in Hamburg but transferred to Stuttgart after a life-changing event. Single and a "lone wolf," he loves his work and loves action. Bootz, 31, is the analytical type who studied criminal psychology and gladly leaves the chases to his partner. He is married, has two young children and does not consider his career as the most important thing in his life.
